Ladies,
The Holy Bible tells the older women to teach the younger women. This passage in Titus 2 goes on to specifically name what older women are to be like and what they are to teach:
Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
TItus 2:3-5
I ponder this passage often.
If you have ever experienced the opposite of these traits, then perhaps you can better treasure the goodness in this admonition and how valuable a woman who embodies these traits really is to our lives.
As you go about your housework and your wifely or motherly role today, when you do it according to this passage, you are doing it so that the word of God may not be reviled. I have often thought on the weight of this assertion.
Think about how wonderful it would be to experience this woman who embodies these commands. Your family would be the most blessed to have this woman too. In this understanding, I hope you feel the true depth of your responsibility and of your influence. I hope you feel the higher purpose and the reward of obeying God and being a blessing like this as well.
No matter our earthly compensation in gratitude, recognition, or material goods, we have done the good and right things when we obey God and seek to honor Him above all.
Pray for the wisdom and the strength to be this woman.
