Ladies,

French Country decor is laid back beauty of expensive toile curtains combined with rustic dirty wood floors. A little rustic and a little polish. Fashion is no different. You can combine the practical and comfortable with the pretty. I like pairing my dusty cowgirl boots with my flowy floral dresses.

The French use nice things daily. They do not save their nice things for special occasions only. All clothes will get ruined eventually, just wear your nice things. I think it’s sad to make nice things occasional. It is also sad that a simple day dress has been viewed as fancy in modern culture. Women use to wear pretty feminine dresses daily! Dresses were not considered fancy or dressed up a few decades ago. A dress that was made with specific fancy fabric and formal cuts were considered fancy. But dresses were considered normal day clothes.

French Country decor is filled with feminine senses. The modern decor trends have leaned more simple lines, hard surfaces, minimal color. French Country decor is full of rich slightly muted colors, patterns of floral or scenery, and some flounce, some ruffle, a little extra textile to soften the room with a long curtain, table cloths, or other fabrics. The French Country style is being fixed up but natural at the same time. Quality materials but at ease with nature around them, like good boots with dirt on them.

Women can be so reticent to wear the pretty clothing they own. But you can wear nice things for any day. Just the way you can hang up fancy curtains and have rustic wood furniture. It works.

whatever is honorable,
whatever is just,
whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely,
whatever is commendable,
if there is any excellence,
if there is anything worthy of praise
think about these things."
