Grocery Shopping Town Outfit : Homemaker Fashion

In today’s fashion world of somber black, grey and lots of neutrals…I just need some levity to my senses. I need some pattern, color, and something that looks distinctly feminine.

Well nothing makes me feel more lovely than a dress. When it’s cold or I want to wear leggings for hauling groceries and bending over, I do my short dress as my long top with leggings fashion formula.

I wear booties around the house but I also love how dainty and polished they look for town.

If it were really cold I would belt the outside of the sweater around me but when I might be taking a cardigan off and on then I just belt my top (short dress).

If I needed a coat, I would swap out the sweater for that. I wear my brooch all throughout the cold season. It looks so beautiful on my navy blue wool coat. My husband remarked the other day that I am the only young woman he has ever seen who wears brooches. It never occurred to me but he’s right, I never see it on younger women.

It is such a lovely piece of jewelry! When it turned November I gleefully took it out of my jewelry box and announced to him that it is “brooch season”. It feels and looks so elegant on a cardigan, coat, or scarf.

Make every outing special by getting dressed for it. Before you go shopping, decide to not rush, have your list but allow yourself to meander at leisure. Pray before you go to have wisdom and discernment for your purchases and to represent The Lord well in your behavior and words. Offer polite gestures like moving out of the way of others and saying “pardon me” and smile. The hardened world needs the softness you will bring.

Happy Homemaking ladies!

"Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise think about these things." Philippians 4:8
